Robert Nunez

Robert joined Californians Against Waste as a Policy Associate just in time to kick off the 2019 legislative session, and will be working to advance CAW's legislative and advocacy goals.

Growing up in an immigrant household, Roberts’s passion lies in advancing solutions to issues that disproportionately affect immigrant/communities of color including migrant rights, healthcare access, and climate justice. Robert is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minor in a Public Policy.

Before coming to CAW, Robert gained valuable experience in the private sector as well as the California Legislature. In Sacramento, Robert has served as a Press and Legislative Intern in the Office of Senator Ricardo Lara, and most recently in an administrative role with the Office of Pro tempore Emeritus Kevin de Leon.

Robert also spent time as an Associate at RALLY Communications, where he managed strategic communications on behalf various clients including writing blogs and managing social media profiles for non-profits aiming to expand healthcare access to all Californians, promoting youth arts development organizations, advocating for park funding legislation, and conducting stakeholder and policy research for Bay Area technology companies.

Outside of the office, Robert likes to practice self-care by going to the gym, and reminding Netflix that he is, in fact, still watching.
